First Time Use
To use the Zisha teapot, please wash the interior of the teapot with clean water and be sure NOT to use any detergent or disinfectant.
A Zisha teapot absorbs a little amount of tea into the pot during brewing. After a period of use, the teapot will develop a kind of coating that retains some flavor and color of the tea. This is the reason why detergent or soap should be avoided to clean the pot. Instead, it should be rinsed with clean water and allowed to air-dry. It’s recommended that you use the clay teapot for steeping only one type of tea, so as not to corrupt the flavor that has been absorbed.
